Roscommon recorded no new cases of Covid-19 for the second time in five days yesterday (Wednesday) after it was confirmed on Tuesday night that the country would remain under Level 5 restrictions until April 5th at the earliest.
It was also confirmed this week that Leaving Certificate students as well as students in junior infants to second class would return to school on Monday (March 1st) as part of a revised ‘Living with Covid’ plan.
Yesterday’s case numbers mean Roscommon’s 14-day incidence is now 119.3, the sixth lowest in the country after ten new cases were confirmed on Tuesday and seven on Monday. There were no cases confirmed on Sunday.
Nationally, there were 56 additional deaths and 574 new cases as of midnight Tuesday, while 353,971 people have now received doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, Gardaí this week confirmed that, as of close of business on Thursday last (18th), 170 Covid-related fines had been issued in the Roscommon Longford Division.
