FF in mid Roscommon considers its position The Executive of the Mid Roscommon Comhairle Ceanntar of Fianna Fáil is to consider its recommendations after the announcement last week of changes to the boundaries for the local elections. Chairman of the Comhairle Ceanntar, Anthony Murray, issued a statement on Wednesday on behalf of the Mid Roscommon Comhairle Ceanntar of Fianna Fáil, following a meeting held in Hannon’s Hotel on Monday night last. At the meeting, members discussed the implications of the changes to the boundaries and it was agreed that the executive should examine the matter, looking at the number of votes in the various areas and the overall situation. Cllr. Paddy Kilduff is the councillor most affected by the changes, as the area where he lives has been moved from the mid Roscommon area into the south area. Votes in the Ballinaheglish area are also being lost to mid-Roscommon, as the area is being transferred into the Castlerea area. Nothing has been agreed on the position which the Comhairle Ceanntar will take, but the Executive is to examine the issue and return with recommendations at the next meeting. A date for the next meeting has not yet been established. Convent Court road taken over The road at Convent Court estate at Ardnanagh, Roscommon, was taken over as a public road by Roscommon County Council this week. The issue was on the agenda at Monday’s meeting of Roscommon County Council. The declaration of the road as a public road was proposed by Cllr. Orla Leyden and seconded by Cllr. Paddy Kilduff and received the unanimous support of councillors.
