Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan has reminded local farmers of the extension to the TAMS 1 deadline.
Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney recently extended the closing date to next Monday for work already started.
“I’ve noticed that some farmers are not aware of the extension to the TAMS 1 deadline in cases where work has already started,” said Deputy Feighan.
“I am reminding farmers in Roscommon and Leitrim that they have until September 14th, now that the deadline has been extended.
“The Government was aware that in certain cases where work had already started for the Safety Schemes, Dairy Equipment Scheme and Sheep Handling Scheme, farmers were experiencing severe difficulties meeting the original deadline of August 31.
“This new more flexible deadline will really help farmers in giving more time to complete the work, collect receipts and return papers to the Department.”
