Creggs Rugby Club gets ‘green’ light for complex

Creggs Rugby Club has received planning permission to build a sports complex at their grounds (The Green) in Creggs. The plan will see the construction of a sports building with a large gym, four dressing rooms, clubrooms and toilet facilities.

The club was also been granted retention of the 4G playing pitch, spectator stand and floodlighting on the grounds. Another unique aspect to this development will be dressing rooms, specifically for the women’s game, in line with their club charter. These will have individual cubicle showers.

Planners have attached eleven conditions, as part of the planning permission. One of these will involve cowling the floodlights and directing them onto the all-weather surface 4G pitch. Development works are to be carried out between 8 am and 7 pm Monday to Friday and between 8 am and 5 pm on Saturdays.

It is expected that the project will take two years to complete.
