This will be a tough game for Oran as they were lucky to win over Castlerea at home in an earlier round. On Saturday the minor team also faces a tough encounter when they travel to Woodmount to meet Padraic Pearses. Both teams gave good displays last weekend. Oran and Athleague/Tremane played out an exciting draw in the minor hurling championship on Saturday evening last in Tremane. This was a game Oran will feel they should have won but Athleague/Tremane snatched a draw with a point from a free in the 4 th minute of injury-time. Oran dominated the first quarter with points from D. Concannon, J. McDermott, N. Mullen and E. Kenny while Athleague/Tremane replyied through A. Purcell and N. Kilroy. In the 15 th minute A. McDermott was on hand to finish to the net after a D. Concannon free rebounded off the post to put Oran five ahead. This goal seemed to spur on Athleague/Tremane who scored four unanswered points through E.T. Murray (0-2), Kilroy and B. Keenan. D. McDermott pointed for Oran in the 30 th minute to leave it Oran 1-5 Athleague/Tremane 0-6 at the break. The third quarter belonged to Athleague/Tremane and they took the lead for the first time when an E.T. Murray free found the net after 9 minutes. With points from Kilroy and Purcell and no response from Oran it was 1-8 to 1-5 with 15 minutes to go. D. Concannon then started the Oran revival with a great point from a sideline cut, N. Mullen added another and then in the 18 th minute R. Cassidy goaled to restore Oran’s lead. The intensity of the game increased and Murray and Kilroy levelled the game again. D. Concannon put Oran in front twice during the final ten minutes but Athleague/Tremane came back each time and snatched the draw at the end of a very enjoyable game. Oran:- D. Ryan, D. Leonard, J.
