Professor Carmel Malone, Head of the School of Medicine at NUI Galway, said: “I extend my congratulations to Emma, to all the Gold Medal recipients, and to this year’s medicine class for their resilience and dedication in what was an extremely difficult end to their degree. I have no doubt that they will make excellent interns and wish them well in their future careers”.
