Connaughton Auctioneers are delighted to announce the sale of Dalton’s public house in Fuerty. This renowned public house which is known worldwide has been purchased by the Dolan family who hail from nearby Roscommon Town.
Owned and run previously by the famous Don Dalton (RIP), one memory which clearly stands out is the time Bono from U2 dropped in for a visit and stayed on, singing until the late hours of the morning with the locals.
No doubt with the new energetic owners we will see more celebrities dropping by in the future.
Owned and run from 2012 by the Joe Gately (RIP) and his family, this public house has been the focal point of Fuerty and the surrounding areas.
The new owners, Joe and Brendan Dolan, have great plans moving forward for Dalton’s. Both Joe and Brendan have vast experience in the licenced trade in the UK over numerous years.
Joe has now returned home to Ireland to take the lead in developing and expanding this business, however it will be a family-driven business with nephews and nieces also involved.
Within the next few weeks patrons will begin to see a difference with plans afoot to refurbish both inside and out. Further down the road the Dolans have plans to develop the site by doubling the current floor square footage which will lead to a large lounge being added, with food and entertainment offerings. There will also a development of the upstairs to add a number of rooms on a B&B basis.
The team at Connaughton Auctioneers wish the Dolan family every success with their new venture and also send the very best of wishes to the Gately family.
