A post-mortem examination was due to take place on Thursday (4th) on the body of a Roscommon farmer who was discovered on Wednesday evening.
The man, believed to be in his early 50s, was discovered near bales at a farm in the Killeglan area of Taughmaconnell.
It’s believed his body may have been at the farm for a number of hours before it was discovered.
Garda Scenes of Crime attended the scene and the man’s remains were taken to the Galway University Hospital for post-mortem, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
The Health and Safety Authority has confirmed it is also investigating the incident
