Planning Permission for works to develop Dr. Hyde Park in Roscommon have been given the go ahead by Roscommon County Council, which will see a major overhaul of many of the facilities located at the home of Roscommon football.
An extensive upgrade will take place to include new and additional dressing rooms, toilet facilities, turnstyles and entrance gates. There will also be a new building erected housing catering, merchandise and corporate facilities.
Speaking to the Roscommon People this week, Roscommon GAA PRO, Hugh Lynn, said that the County Board hoped works would begin in the not so distant future and also signalled their intent to host the Connacht final in 2020, if the opportunity arose.
“We hope to start works in the not so distant future and the aim would be to complete the redevelopment by June 2020, putting us in a position to host the Connacht final if Roscommon were to qualify,” he said.
