Roscommon Intercultural Project sports taster day

Roscommon Intercultural Project is holding a sports taster day in the Convent Sports grounds in Roscommon Town on Sunday, 29th of April from 10 am to 3 pm. 

  This day will showcase futsal that has been running in Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen, Monksland and Roscommon over the past five weeks. The day aims to bring children from all different nationalities and cultures to try their hand at a range of sports in a fun environment. 

  Children between the ages of 6 and 14 years are invited to join in the sports including football, hurling, tennis, hip hop dance, boxing and much more. Parents are invited to stay and help out.

Each child will receive a training top. Closing date for registrations is Thursday, 12th of April. 

  This project is led by Roscommon Women’s Network, in association with FAI, Roscommon Sports Partnership, Local Links and funded by Department of Integration and Roscommon County Council.

Lisacul Tidy Towns Annual Spring Clean

The Lisacul Tidy Towns Annual Spring Clean will be held on Saturday, 14th of April at 10 am at Lisacul Crossroads.

  We are delighted to take part in this nationwide annual event and would love as many people to help out as possible. This is the start of the Tidy Towns year and we look forward to seeing you all again.

Castlecoote Tidy Towns Spring Clean

Castlecoote Tidy Towns are holding their Spring Clean on Saturday, the 14th of April at 10 am. Please meet in Church car park. Gloves and bags will be provided thanks to Roscommon County Council.

  A children’s workshop was held in St. Ciaran’s Community Centre on Monday, the 2nd of April. Jam jars were upcycled and beautiful painted jars with tea lights were created. 

  All children were very happy with their piece of art and thanks to all the parents who helped on the day. It was a very worthwhile workshop for all concerned.

Over €4,100 raised on Daffodil Day in Castlerea

The Irish Cancer Society is grateful to all who made Daffodil Day 2018 a huge success with their generous donations. In Castlerea, a big thank you to all who donated fresh daffodils, to all the outlets in the town who sold pins, to Anthony Cahill and SuperValu who donated a hamper, and especially all who helped on the day. The total amount collected in Castlerea was €4145.87.

Fashion Show for Hospice

A Fashion Show in aid of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice will be held in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Thursday, 26th of April.

Ballyleague Tidy Towns & Village Renewal AGM

On Tuesday, 17th of April, Ballyleague Tidy Towns & Village Renewal will stage its rescheduled AGM at St. Faithleach’s clubhouse at 8.30 pm.

  This meeting will discuss a range of issues of importance to all local residents.

  All are welcome. You do not have to be a Tidy Towns committee member to attend. 

  Further important dates for your diary: Annual Spring Clean on Thursday, April 19th; Tidy Towns Table Quiz (9 pm) at St. Faithleach’s clubhouse on Friday, April 20th.

Kilteevan Tidy Towns Community Spring Clean

Kilteevan Tidy Towns Community Spring Clean will take place on Saturday, April 21st. Meet at Kilteevan Community Centre at 10 am. Bags, gloves and pickers will be provided.

  We are asking everyone in the community to come out and take part. Let’s showcase the energy, dedication and community spirit of Kilteevan.
