Cloontuskert Tidy Towns committee in Co. Roscommon took home the Irish Water Value Award at the SuperValu Tidy Towns awards for the North-West region, which took place in Westport, Co. Mayo recently.
Irish Water is proud to partner with Tidy Towns and sponsor the Water Value Awards which are aimed at inspiring water conservation at a local level. The Water Value Award is about raising awareness of the importance of mindful water consumption within communities and is about reconnecting communities with water, creating a greater understanding of where water comes from, and where wastewater goes to.
The Cloontuskert entry was acknowledged for their work on the community shed which the judges said is a great way to allow the community experience first-hand the benefits of harvesting rainwater. According to the judges the committee’s work has created a good foundation to build on and is a great way to spread awareness about water conservation.
