Deirdre Cribbin, a primary school teacher from Castleplunkett, was named as this year’s Roscommon Rose at the Abbey Hotel on Saturday night.
The 26-year-old had very little time to take it all in, however, as she was scheduled to appear at the Roscommon Easter Parade on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to the Roscommon People earlier this week, she said: “It has been a bit of a whirlwind. I was at the Easter Parade on Sunday and then WalknTalk in Ballintubber on Monday. I didn’t really have time to think about it but it has been great so far!”
Deirdre will now join 63 other Roses in Tralee in August as she bids to follow in the footsteps of Aisling McNeill and make the televised final.
