The 2019 Queen of the Woodlands selection night on Sunday, June 2nd in Loughglynn Community Centre will be the culmination of the annual Queen of the Woodlands competition and the Loughglynn Music Festival.
Nine beautiful young ladies will compete for the title of ‘Queen of the Woodlands 2019’. After an evening of partying and fun, the girls will take to the stage from 9 pm with a wonderful night’s entertainment guaranteed as the contestants are interviewed by compere Gerry Glennon from Midwest Radio as they attempt to impress the audience with their party pieces. The crowning of The Queen of the Woodlands will take place at 11.30 pm, with reigning Queen Rebecca Finan handing over the mantle.
The lucky winner will receive a perpetual trophy sponsored by Lynch Roofing, and a substantial cheque, which is sponsored by James Creaton, Loughglynn. She will also receive a cosmetic hamper, sponsored by Murphy’s Totalhealth, Ballaghaderreen, a portrait sponsored by Liam Reynolds Photography, and numerous other gifts and vouchers. The winning queen will also get to represent the area at the Rose of Roscommon selection night for Tralee 2020. Each of the contestants will also receive a commemorative gift.
All relatives, neighbours and friends are invited to come along early to get good seats and to avail of special entrance rates before 11 pm. This is an enjoyable night’s entertainment for all ages and The Heebie Jeebies band will provide music from 12-2 pm, with a bar extension too on the night.
