Roscommon County Youth Theatre will return to Roscommon Arts Centre on Saturday, with an Open Day from 10 am to noon, marking their 16th year in existence.
The year commences with a series of workshops, covering physical movement, voice work, character work, devising, improvisation and various acting techniques, drama games and exercises.
They will also be casting their annual production midway through the term. They will also have specialist tutors in to work on the production, as well as some guest facilitators during the term.
This year, to mark their 16th year in existence and also to commemorate and celebrate the 1916 centenary, they will be performing a production themed around the 1916 Rising.
Their annual production will take place from April 21-23, 2016. This will be their largest and most challenging production to date.
They are recruiting new members, aged 13 to 24, for this production. No experience will be necessary as training will be provided. However, if you play an instrument and sing, it will be an advantage.
Workshops run weekly through the year, with the year split into two terms. Term 1, which costs €70, will run until December 12. For further information, contact artistic director Catherine Sheridan on 086-8747024.
