The Oran Gets Active programme, which is organised by the Oran Healthy Clubs project team, got off to a great start last Thursday evening in Ballinaheglish Community Centre.
A large crowd of participants were put through an exercise class with a difference by fitness guru Pat Divilly. Pat’s philosophy is that exercise must be enjoyable and can be used as an opportunity to get to know the people in your locality. He also emphasised the importance of emotional as well as physical fitness.
Pat offered advice on goals, identifying obstacles and staying motivated throughout the eight week Oran Gets Active programme which continues weekly on Tuesday nights in Ballinaheglish and Saturdays in Donamon Castle.
Participants will also take part in motivational dancing classes on selected Sunday evenings and walks on selected Thursdays.
