Get snapping

Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) is calling for all second level students to get their entries for its annual cross-border photography competition.

This year the focus of the ‘Life through a Lens’ competition is ‘Energy - The Next Generation’. Students are encouraged to put on their thinking caps, peer into the future and capture a photograph of how they believe we all could make changes to the way we use energy in the future to reduce the impacts of climate change. With only a few weeks to go in the competition, SEI is encouraging you to get your entries in as soon as possible.

The amazing prizes are split into five different categories PC/laptops, digital cameras, camcorders, MP3 players and Camera Phones totalling approximately €10,000. In addition, the winning entry will be exhibited in a number of exhibitions around Ireland during 2009. SEI is also offering a unique prize of a special edition Power of One bicycle, which will be raffled off among all those that enter the competition, so get your entries in!

All secondary schools have been issued with details of the competition, which is open to all secondary school students in the Republic and Northern Ireland. The closing date for entries is Friday 17th April 2008. For further information students can log onto www.sei.ie and download an information pack or send an email to schools@sei.ie. Alternatively, they can free phone 1850 376 666.
