The team will play a challenge match against Castlerea St. Kevin’s,, with a throw-in at 7.30 pm. The local club will provide overnight accommodation for the panel and they will travel to Belturbet in Co. Cavan on the Friday morning. The panel of 21 has been selected from three clubs: Dulwich Harps, Round Towers and Thomas McCurtain’s.
Over the last few years, a major development in South London has been to introduce Gaelic Games to young people of many different heritages. It has been remarkable the way that students from Brazilian, German, African, South African and Afro-Caribbean heritages have picked up the basic skills of Gaelic Football and our now simply outstanding competitors.
Round Towers and Thomas McCurtain’s have a very long tradition of Gaelic Football in London. The team will be accompanied by three mentors: Michael Maher (Round Towers), Jim McDermott (Thomas McCurtain’s) and Pat Winston (Dulwich Harps). South London are very grateful for the excellent support that they have received from Liam Callaghan and his team at the Castlerea St Kevin’s Club.
