Creggs had a good win over Longford in this friendly game held in Longford on Saturday evening last. It was an opportuinity for both sides to look at some new players and Creggs had a number of new players on their side.
Fergal Hester was the first to score when he grabbed a Creggs try after a chip ahead by Joel McPhilbin and Creggs were 10-0 in front when Hester got his second try and it was 15-0 at half-time when McPhilbin scored another try.
Longford came back strongly in the second half and they scored two quick tries before Gerry Keegan replied with a penalty goal to seal a six-point victory for Creggs.
Larry Mannion did well at prop forward as did Enda and Bernard Kilcommons and Kevin Coyle. The two Hester brothers and Joel McPhilbin were the pick of the backline.
On Sunday next Creggs travel to Ballina for a league game and with two victories out of their four games so far, hopes are high that the team can get two more points. Remember training continues on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8.30pm.

Creggs face Loughrea in a top of the table Junior League clash on Sunday next. Both teams are unbeaten to date however Loughrea are ahead because they have accrued a numver of bonus points so far.
Creggs will have to win this game if they want to have title aspirations later in the season. Creggs will be hoping to bring a full side to Loughrea and will be looking to captain Tom Fleming, Kevin Brandon and Mark Hester for inspiration. The game kicks-off in Loughrea at 2.30 pm next Sunday.
