Athleague 2-12 Padraig Pearses 0-5
Athleague produced an excellent display to overwhelm Padraig Pearses in this one-sided Group B match played at Pairc an Piarsaigh on Sunday last. Athleague were on top all through and deserved their easy win. On the basis of this display they will be involved at the business end of the championship this year.
Peter Leahy scored Athleague’s first goal and it helped them to a 1-5 to 0-2 half-time lead. Gary Fallon followed up with another goal in the second half. Indeed, Pearses only scored one point from play in the entire game. Gary Fallon was accurate from frees as Athleague breezed into the semi-finals. Tremane 1-15 Oran 1-7
Tremane scored a very good win against Oran at Pairc an Piarsaigh on Sunday last and they sowed the seeds of their win with a top class first-half display, at the end of which they led by 1-9 to 0-4. The crucial score came at the end of the first quarter when Frank Carr scored an opportunist goal.
Tremane extended their lead early in the second half before Gerry Fallon scored an Oran goal from a 20-metre free to give them hope, but Tremane held out to win with a bit to spare.

Four Roads 6-17 Roscommon Gaels 0-10
Four Roads qualified for the semi-finals of the championship following this 25- point win against Roscommon Gaels. It was one-way traffic for most of the game as the Gaels were outclassed. Robbie Kelly scored a Four Roads goal in the first half and at half-time it was Four Roads 1-11 Roscommon Gaels 0-4.
Goals on the re-start from Robbie Kelly, Enda Rogerson and Jamie Lawlor saw Four Roads pull away and Shane Curley completed the rout in injury-time with this side’s sixth goal.
