Mount Talbot One Wall Tournament

Mount Talbot Handball club once again proved themselves to be great hosts where they catered for over two hundred competitors at their annual One Wall Tournament in the Mattie McDonagh Centre in Ballygar and also a new one wall court installed at the Four Roads community centre. Well done to all the Mount Talbot committee and club members on a job well done, the level of organising and preparation to detail that went in was second to none.

From a St. Coman’s perspective a large number of their players took part from Under 8 up to masters grade. In the Mens “B” Nevan McCartin (St.Comans) had a very good tournament by getting to the final where he finished as runner up to Ian McLoughlin from Mayo.

On the way to the final McCartin had a win against fellow club man Brendan McDonagh who himself had a good win over Peter Flanagan from Meath in the quarter finals. Nevan has really taken to the one wall code with some very impressive “gets” from difficult angles over the weekend. Full results were not available at time of going to press, please see Mount Talbot website or gaa handball.ie for full results or next weeks report  for results and photos.
