Kelloggs GAA Cúl Camps Commence next Monday

Kellogg’s are the new national sponsor of the GAA Cul camps for 2012 as they have taken over from VHI. The cost of the camps in Roscommon this year will be down on 2011. This year the price will be €55 for the first child, 45 for the second and 40 for the third and subsequent children. Also this year kids will get five euro off the price if they book on line with the application from Kellogg’s cornflakes or Rice Crispies packs. Fr Manning Cup U16 football 2012 fixtures

Roscommon U-16 footballers commence their Fr Manning cup campaign away to Offaly on this Wednesday evening June 27th in Rhode with a 7.30 pm start.

  The following are Roscommon fixtures - Round 1 27/06/2012 Offaly v Roscommon at Rhode; Round 2 04/07/2012 Roscommon v Leitrim at Elphin; Round 3 11/07/2012 Westmeath v Roscommon at St Loman’s; Round 4 18/07/2012 Sligo v Roscommon at Tourlestrane; Round 5 25/07/2012 Roscommon v Longford at St Barry’s.


Connacht U-14 hurling Academy Feile blitz day

Roscommon U-14 hurling development squad will take part in the Connacht U-14 Academy Feile blitz day on this Saturday June 30th in Carnmore GAA Grounds Galway. Roscommon will have two squads on the day and will play two Galway squads and Mayo in group one. Roscommon’s second squad will play Sligo, Leitrim and Mayo in group two with all games in each group commencing at 11.15 am. Both Roscommon teams will have three games on the day. Hurling GPO Prionsias Killion will have all the details for the lads this week


Roscommon host Armagh in qualifiers

Roscommon play Armagh in the opening round of the All-Ireland football qualifiers on this Sunday July 1st in Dr Hyde Park Roscommon at 2.30 pm. Roscommon Coaching and Games Development wish the management and players the very best of luck. 


Gaelic football coaching in Monksland

Roscommon coaching and games development in conjunction with Clann Na nGael GAA club have commenced GAA coaching in Cushla Park Monkslands, Athlone for all boys and girls aged between 6 and 12-year-olds.

  It runs from 11am to 12.30 pm every Saturday morning with all kids in the area invited to attend. Kids can come along and learn the skills of Gaelic football and meet and make new friends in a fun and enjoyable setting.


Development squad’s football coaching sessions

These sessions take place next Saturday morning June 30th for our U-14/U-15 and U-17 football development squads continue their coaching sessions at the following venues.


U-14 football

U-14 football takes place this Saturday June 30th at Kilbride GAA pitch between 9.30-10.30 am (Internal games among all squad players)


U-15 football

U-15 football takes place at Kilbride GAA pitch between 10.30-11.30 am on Saturday June 30th

 

U-17 football

U-17 football takes place on Saturday June 30th. Meath v Westmeath in Kinnegad. Players to receive details this week.


U-8/U-10 football and hurling Go Games blitz groups

  All clubs in each group are to play each other at both U-8 and U-10 level between May and Friday 13th July.

  County Go Games Blitz for Under 8 is on Saturday June 16th. Venue to be confirmed. Each group has been appointed a co-ordinator who will liaise with all clubs to ensure the smooth running of the Go Games Blitz’s.

Simple rules for Go Games blitzes

(A) Clubs are asked to play home and away with teams in their group and arrange games; (B) Clubs can play U-8/U-10 on same evening if it suits; (C) All games to be 7 or 9 a-side; (D) Two plays of the ball, one hop and one solo; (E) Home team to provide the referees; (F) Will email all clubs with list of young whistler’s referees who have just completed a course in refereeing; (G) Clubs to make it a special evening for all your young players; (H) Their are no winners or losers, every player is a winner; (L) our coordinators will be in contact too make sure everything is going ok; (J) Looking forward to a great summer of blitzes in both football and hurling; (K) Will have two county blitz days, one for U-8 and one for U-10
