Roscommon County Childcare Committee is delighted at the success of Roscommon Early Childhood Care and Education Services in the announcements under the Childcare Capital Funding Programme 2012.
Out of a total of 2,343 applications submitted nationally, 5 Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Services in County Roscommon were successful in obtaining funding totaling €153,984.
Only 290 childcare services nationally have been approved for a share of the €6m fund.
Nationally, Donegal, Dublin and Cork had the largest numbers of approvals and 75% of the funding approved was for renovation and maintenance works.
In the Roscommon area, the following capital funding was approved for community services: Roscommon Community Playgroup, Henry Street, Roscommon - €49,372
Greenfields Childcare and Montessori, Lisnamult, Roscommon - €22,000; Jack and Jill Playgroup, Ballinlough, Co. Roscommon - €35,412; Kilronan Community Playgroup, Ballyfarnon, Boyle, Co. Roscommon - €17,180. Capital funding was approved for the following private service: Tangier Tots, Tangier, Boyle, Co. Roscommon - €30,020.
