Last Friday saw the second legs of both the cup and shield semi-finals, with wins for Widow Pat’s and McDermott’s in the cup and for the Central Bar and Creaton’s in the shield. Cup Semi-Finals – Widow Pat’s 3 Kate’s 3 (Widow Pat’s win 8-5 overall). Six 180s in total were hit on the night, with Mick Egan and Brendan Harrington hitting one each, while Paddy Connaughton and Jimmy Reilly hit two each. McDermott’s 4 Spell’s 1 (McDermott’s win 8-4 overall). Sean Fleming hit a 180 on the night.
Shield Semi-Finals – Hollywood 4 Central Bar 3 (7-all over two legs, Central Bar win in play-off). Both JP Feeney and Martin Murphy hit 180s, with JP hitting a 13-dart leg in his win. Martin Murphy had a 127 checkout. These results left the tie at 7-all, with one game being played to decide the outcome. For this decider JP Feeney faced off against Martin Murphy, with both players playing excellent darts. It was Murphy who came out on top on a 3-0 scoreline, hitting an emphatic 13-dart leg to seal his win. Creaton’s 4 Flanagan’s 2 (Creaton’s win 8-5 overall).
