On Tuesday night in Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon Community Sports Park committee launched a major fundraising campaign. The committee is dedicated to developing a sports facility in Roscommon town which will cater for many sports and be of enormous benefit to the people of Roscommon and its environs for generations to come.
A prominent member of the committee Cllr. Orla Leyden approached the FAI seeking support for our project and following her meeting with Mr. John Delaney CEO FAI, he agreed to donate 4 match tickets for Irelands two most attractive games (2 for each match) in EURO 2012 in Poland taking place in June. These matches are Ireland v Spain on June 14th and Ireland v Italy on June 18th. With many supporters travelling to the Euros without tickets it is expected to be a most sought after prize.
At just €5 a ticket or 5 for €20 the committee have priced the tickets at a very attractive price point offering great value.
Chairperson of the committee John Horan has asked all the clubs involved in the project and get selling and insure that this will be the success that we need to help fund the Sports Park.
John also thanked his hard-working committee made up of volunteers from various sports and community groups. The project is backed by Roscommon Chamber of Commerce and tickets will be on sale in many businesses in Roscommon.
