SPORT BRIEFS ...



Kilglass Karate Club

Plans are at an advanced stage for our 25th Anniversary celebrations which takes place from 19th-23rd April next, One of the events over the weekend will be a celebration demonstration in the Longford Arms Hotel at 7 pm. 

  In attendance will be Sensei Bob Yarnell, the best-known exponent of Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu in the United States and Style head for all Matsubayashi  Shorinryu groups associated with the United States Karate Do Kai and Sensei Dan Smyth renowned author, historian, senior student to Master Zenryo Shimabukuro (Okinawa) and president of Seibukan in the USA.

  Our celebratory Dinner Dance in connection with our 25th Anniversary will be held in Abbeyshrule on Sunday 22nd April at 8.30 pm. Our club grading will be held on Wednesday 21st March. Bowling Fundraiser

A bowling Fundraiser will take place on Friday 23rd March in Rosbowl, Roscommon in aid of ‘Jump for Dreams/Share a Dream Foundation. A group of people are taking part in a tandem parachute jump in Kilkenny in May. Teams of four cost €40. Please phone Aisling on 086-2251366 if you would like to come along between 7-10 pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.


Rosactive 10k/5k

The Roscommon Sports Partnership are delighted to announce the Rosactive 10K/5K run or walk. The run is taking place on Sunday, the 22nd of April in Roscommon Town, meeting at Hannon's Hotel at 12 noon. Cost is €10.
