Many thanks to all who contributed to the Aware Daisy Days collection in Glenamaddy on Friday, 16th September and to Martina and staff of Heneghan’s Supervalu for facilitating the initiative. The amount raised was €1,021.52 and has been forwarded to Aware, Dublin. Thanks to all for your overwhelming generosity.
For more than 25 years, Aware has helped thousands of people suffering from depression in Ireland. The funds raised during the Daisy Days campaign are vital for Aware to continue their work. It is estimated that more than 400,000 people in Ireland experience depression at any one time.
Proceeds from Daisy Days go to maintaining and developing Aware’s vital services for individuals and families affected directly or indirectly by depression. These include the network of support groups, both nationwide and on-line, the loCall Helpline (1890 303 302, open 365 days a year), the email support service and the ‘Beat the Blues’ nationwide secondary schools awareness programme.
Thanks also to the collectors Mary M, Mary O’C, Mary F, Liz, Aisling, Lotte and Mairead who volunteered their time.
