LETHAL LEE

U-16 FC Division 3 Final

Eire Og 1-18 Kilbride 1-12

This 13-a-side final at Oran featured a shoot-out between two very talented players – Henry Walsh of Kilbride and Lee Keenan of Eire Og – and it was Keenan who edged that contest. His team took the title too. Walsh scored 1-8 and Keenan 1-11 as the two players put on an exhibition of score-taking from play and frees.

Lee Keenan’s goal helped Eire Og into a 1-9 to 0-6 lead at one stage in the first half but Henry Walsh was not to be outdone and his goal before half-time left only three points in it at the break – Eire Og 1-9 Kilbride 1-6.

There was never much between the sides in the second half but Eire Og could always keep their noses in front and they held on to win the title in tremendous style after an excellent game.
