Ladies Section, Boyle Golf Club. The Club fund-raising open competition last weekend was won in style by Mary O'Hara who saw her handicap tumbling in the process. Very well done Mary. 2nd Peggy Feely, Gross Phil Emmett and 3rd Joey Mullaney. Thank you ladies for the great turn out. On our social golf evening, 28th June we would like to meet all our new beginners – and old beginners. This will be your opportunity to get to play a round of golf will an experienced player and ask all the questions. Thank you must go to Brendan and Susan Gaffney for all the hard work getting the beginners so far. Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club
Last weekend’s golf played over the blue & white course where competitors decided before play which course to tackle, 60% of the field chose the white sticks and with Rory mania in the air winning was in Milroy proportions with Eamon McGirl (20) shooting 44 points to win by 6 points from Niall McGreevy (19) 38. Padraig O’Dowd (12) took the Gross and Pat Conlisk (19) was 3rd with 36. On the blue course scoring was equally as impressive with Andy Connellan (21) winning with 43 points. Owen Gibney (14) with 40 points was 2nd; David McDermott (5) won gross and Adrian Beirne (13) was 3rd on 38. Result online at www.carrickgolfclub.ie
Next weekend we have Brenda Kelly’s Lady Captain’s Prize to the Gents, this is also round 5 of Golfer of the Year and can be played on Saturday or Sunday. As always book online.
On next weekend the Fred Daly team play Ballinrobe in round 2 of the Fred Daly Plate with 3 matches at home. On Wednesday week June 29 we play Co. Sligo in round 2 of the Jack O’Sullivan with 3 matches at home.

The President’s Prize to Men takes place on this Sunday. Entries must be written on the notice board by Friday at 8 pm after which the draw for Sunday tee-times will be made. There was a good turnout for the President’s Prize to Ladies last Sunday. There will be a presentation social in the clubhouse on Sunday evening, commencing at 9.30. All members are welcome.
