Are you the ‘Curvette of the Year’ in Roscommon?
A nationwide competition was launched this week and Curves is calling for
entries from its 50,000 members in 100 individual Curves clubs throughout the
Republic of Ireland.
The
overall winner, who will be announced in January 2008, will be presented with a
ten-year membership of Curves. Members will not only be judged on inches lost
but also the overall positive changes in their lives since becoming a member of
Curves. Application forms will be available in Curves across Ireland from
tomorrow.
The
judging panel, which includes celebrity judge, Gail Kaneswaran, has been given
the task of sorting through the entries to discover the first ever “Curvette of
the Year’. Curves prides itself of being more than a gym. The Curves programme
aims to increase energy levels, self-confidence and also encourages members to
meet new people and make friends within the Curves community. Members are also
encouraged to adopt healthier dietary habits. The Curves concept is based on a
circuit of workout stations that combine hydraulic resistance machines, aerobic
exercise, strength training and stretching for a complete body workout. Curves
recommends members to attend at least three times per week for a 30 minute
session, to see results.
The
closing date for entries is Friday, 30th November 2007. The judging panel will
select two individual entrants and one group entry from each territory
(Leinster, Connacht, Ulster and Munster). The final judging session will take
place in Dublin, in January 2008, where each finalist will be interviewed and
the overall winner announced.
