Cryan’s Hotel Stableford: We had a unique situation on Sunday May 1st last with the first running of the Cryan’s Hotel sponsored stableford. The uniqueness of it was that members had a choice of which tee they played off, and surprisingly the majority chose to play off the blue course. Scoring was below the last few weeks, probably because of no placing and also a strong wind.
The winner on the blue course was Collie Griffin (18) with 40 points. He beat Alan Ffrench (11) on 38 and Gordon Kavanagh (9) took Gross with 28, while Johnny Martin (11) was 3rd with 37. On the white course Seamus Sweeney (21) with 38 took top spot, Tom Daly (18) with 37 was 2nd. Gross went to Brendan Boyle (14) and 3rd to Joe Bruen (21) also 37.
