Guitar legend John Fairhurst plays JJ’s

JJ Harlow’s is the place to be this Saturday night when guitar legend John Fairhurst rolls into town to play an exclusive gig.

John Fairhurst truly epitomises the modern day wandering blues man. Stories of hunger, listlessness, roaming and reckless abandon are just a prelude to John’s story, something that can only be fully understood in the presence of the man.

With a bottle-neck style blues referencing the likes of Son House and Bukka White, comparisons to the fingerpicking of John Fahey, a leaning towards the psychedelic 60’s rock of Hendrix and Led Zepplin and the ever present influence of K. Sridhar and Indian raga, John’s music is a real melting-pot of diverse musical traditions.

John has toured all over the world including Asia, America, Canada, Australia and Europe. Highlights include Glastonbury, SXSW, Solfest, Tarragona Blues Festival in Spain, 2010, Aeon, Liverpool Folk and Roots festival, Sounds of the Other City, Shambala, Edinburgh Festival, End of the Road, In The City to
name just a few.

Capable of creating jaw-dropping moments live, he is possibly the finest guitarist you’ll ever see and even better than that he is able to couple those skills with brilliant songwriting and a gravel-swilled belter of a voice. Newcomers to John Fairhurst certainly won’t be forgetting his name in a hurry.

So why not come along to JJ Harlow’s, Roscommon this Saturday where you will be treated to some of the most unique, modern and classic guitar playing on offer. It promises to be an occasion not to be missed!
