Roscommon teams in All-Ireland action

The Roscommon county pool teams, A and B, take to the green baize next weekend in the All-Ireland county pool championships in the West County Hotel in Ennis. The Roscommon A team will be hoping to improve on their excellent performance of reaching the last 8 in Ireland last year, although they are in a very tough group this year with Louth, Limerick A, Westmeath and Tyrone.

The Roscommon Pool Association are also sending a Roscommon B team to the championships and they have been pitted in a group with Dublin, Mayo B, Limerick B, Tyrone B and Louth B. This is the first time Roscommon has had two teams in the finals so hopefully both teams can put up credible performances.

After a series of trials the following players are representing Roscommon. Team A consists of captain Michael Higgins, Patrick Higgins, Alan Mullen, Andy O’Shea, Patrick Carberry, Noel Moran, Alan Cunningham, Alan Revins, Liam Finneran and Padraig McKeown. The B team consists of captain Barry Miley, Kevin Heaney, Lee Joyce, Patrick Joyce, Fran Mulligan, David Mulgrew, Charlie Mee, Peter Devanney, Patrick McDonagh, Neil Hennelly and Ken Burke.
