Last weekend we had the second GOY of the year with the King & Moffatt  sponsored Stableford. The club would like to thank Pat King and John Moffatt for their continued sponsorship and support. Another big field for this GOY event saw the scoring of last week maintained with 42 the mark for top spot. Three players managed that, but Adrian Roche (21) had the best, pipping Tommy Mulvey (11) into 2nd place with the third 42 going to Albert Hogg (9). He picked up the gross with 31. Owen Caulfield (24) was 3rd with 41. The categories went to Sean Bohan (10) 41 for Cat 2 (5-12), Aidan Sheerin (18)  Cat 3 (13-20) with 39 and the Cat 4 (21-28) went to Tom Martin (22) with 40. The 9’s were shared by (front) Kieran Oates (24) 25 points, (back) Des Beirne (10). The Friday 14 hole was won by the man on fire at the moment, Sean Bohan, with 30 points. In the Masters sweep we had for this year’s tournament, John ‘Jimenez’ McCarthy took top prize, 2nd Noel McDermott & Adrian Roche.

Next Saturday April 23rd we have a 4Some competition. On Sunday the Joan O’Shea Mixed 4Somes takes place, and on Monday April 25th we have an Open Stableford. This will be the first Open Day of our Monday to Thursday Open Days, which will run until end of September.

Now that the golf season is in full swing our attention will be focused on our Annual Golf Classic which takes place over June Bank Holiday weekend (June 3-6). The committee would encourage all members to participate in this Club fundraising event, and also to encourage as many non-members as possible to play.

On Easter Saturday April 24th the Club were to hold a Fundraising Social in the Bush Hotel, but unfortunately this event has being cancelled.
