Feighan welcomes funding for Senior Alert

Deputy Frank Feighan recently welcomed the allocation of funding of €997.50 to St. Vincent de Paul in Castlerea under the Senior Alert Scheme announced by Minister for Community, Equality & Gaeltacht Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald.

“Under the scheme funding is used for the provision of security measures such as door locks and socially monitored alarms and other initiatives to improve the security and social support of vulnerable older people who have a genuine need for assistance.

“Providing these security measures ensures older people can continue to live independently in their own homes feeling safe and secure at all times knowing they are connected to a 24 hour, seven day week monitoring system, ensuring assistance is provided when necessary,” concluded Deputy Feighan.
