Coman’s host Connacht Community Games finals

St Coman’s played host to the Connacht community games finals on Saturday last. The U15 Girls final was won by the Roscommon Kilteevan team of Fiona Tully, Clodagh Beatty, Jessica McDermott, Caoimhe Shanagher and Aoife Tully. 

Commiserations to Cormac O’Brien and Philip O’Connor (Roscommon) who unfortunately lost the Junior Doubles All-Ireland final against Paul Lambert and Brendan Hughes of Wexford in Garryhill, Carlow on a scoreline of 21-5, 21-12.

Congratulations to Tony Hannon on winning the Roscommon sportsperson of the year award for his contribution to handball as President of GAA Handball. Tony’s reign as president comes to and end at the end of April at the national handball congress in Kells.

St. Coman’s Handball Club would like to thank people for their support in the bag packing on Saturday last in SuperValu. It was a very successful fund raising effort and a huge thanks to Supervalu for hosting this. The Interprovincial team of ten will train in Williamstown on Monday 11th April at 7.30 pm. Roscommon players involved are Fiona Tully, Lauren O’Riordan and Caoimhe Shanagher.

Connaught Juvenile B finals on Sunday 17th April In Castlebar at 11 am. Juvenile B Semi-finals: GU11S Lea Irwin (Mayo) v Roscommon (Lisa Mullin). GU14D Melanie Nally, Sharleen Nally (Mayo) v Aoife Tully and Chloe White-Lennon (Roscommon). Golden Masters “A” Doubles All-Ireland Final Ger Walshe and Dermot Doolin are playing in the All-Ireland final in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan this Saturday 16th April at 5 pm.

From May 20th -22nd Williamstown Handball Club will be holding their annual One Wall tournament.  This competition was a huge success last year with Roscommon players doing very well.
