Busy time for Kilbride Community Games

The last few weeks have been very busy in Kilbride with children and adults involved in practicing and rehearsing for the county Community Games activities.  The choir U13 mixed got bronze in county competition, a sincere thanks to Mary, Sonja and Sarah who spent endless time with the choir. U10, U12 and U12 draughts teams were entered in the county competition. The U14 team got silver in the final, well done to everybody. Thanks to Noel, Anne and Collette and Sandra and Kevin who helped on the day of the competition.

The U14 mixed quiz team managed by Carmel helped by Agnes came 6th overall. In Basketball the U11 mixed team coached by Erica, will participated in May. The U13 girls’ competition is currently in full swing and the local team has qualified for the county final, which takes place on April 16th. The team beat Boyle, Roscommon/Kilteevan and Aughrim/Kilmore. Good luck to the girls in the final. This would not be achieved without the endless help and commitment of Sandra. The U16 girls team will be competing on April 16th. Art and handwriting: A sincere thanks to both Principals and staff of our local national schools Roxboro and Fourmilehouse for accommodating the children and allowing them to do their art and handwriting. The county final in Art took place last Saturday, congrats to Sarah McTiernan who got gold. The talent show took place in Elphin on Sunday last and Kilbride was represented in solo music, singing, group music, managed by Winnie and Gemma, group dance, managed by Shirley, group singing, and sketch managed by Richie and Sandra B. Well done to everyone who participated. The group dance and sketch took gold and the music group silver. A special thanks to Colette and Anne who co-ordinated the entire show.
