Want to meet the man or woman of your dreams? Then get yourself along to the Macra speed dating event in the Stagger Inn, Castlerea on Friday, October 12th at 9 pm.
The speed dating night is part of the club’s recruitment drive and all are welcome to participate. This week Macra clubs all around Roscommon are gearing up for another year of competitions and events as Macra na Feirme’s season of activities get underway for 2007/8.
Already the county executive members have attended the Bank of Ireland-sponsored County Officer Training in Bunratty, Co. Clare on the weekend of September 8th and 9th last, and club officers from around the county attended Club Officer Training, also supported by Bank of Ireland, held on September 22nd and 23rd in the South Court Hotel in Limerick.
Congratulations to Roscommon County Chairman for Macra na Feirme John Kenny on receiving a silver award in Macra’s Leadership Distinction Awards. The awards scheme is designed to recognise the hard work and achievements of county officers working on a voluntary basis within Macra.
Well done to Elphin who recently beat Knockcroghery in the final of the Gaelic Football final. Thanks to St Barry’s GAA club for hosting the event.

Macra na Feirme is a national, voluntary organisation for young people between the ages of 17 and 35. The organisation aims to promote agricultural and rural development and the personal development of its members.
