Laugh with Conal Gallen!

Tickets for Conal Gallen, Donegal’s funnyman and singer of Horse it into ya, Cynthia, are almost sold out at Roscommon Arts Centre. Conal will play the arts centre on Saturday 26th February and with limited seats available, audiences are encouraged to book their seats now to be guaranteed to get a laugh. Tickets are €25. Lambert’s Snow White

The nation’s favourite puppeteers, The Lambert Puppet company will perform the fairytale of Snow White at Roscommon Arts Centre this Saturday 12th February for two performances, at 2 pm and 4 pm. There are still a small number of tickets available. At just €10, this is a wonderful afternoon for the family with plenty of magic and nostalgia. Ballinasloe singers

Ballinasloe Singers Circle will hosts its next Circle in The Dunlo Tavern, Dunlo St., Ballinasloe on Thursday, 10th February from 9.30 pm.

All singers and listeners from far and near welcome. The organizers now hope that the regular followers will come out as usual to support the Circle. A further invitation has also been issued to all singers and storytellers in the surrounding area to come along and support the circle. Admission is free. Come early for a seat. Valentine’s Miscellany

A special Valentine’s Miscellany will take place on Sunday next, February 13th at noon in the Olive Grove restaurant in Athlone.

The event will feature nine local writers and musicians, who will explore the theme of love in all its variety. Event organizers were inspired by the great success of the Athlone Sunday Miscellany event, which was hosted as part of last year's Athlone Literary Festival. A year was too long to wait and so they have decided to provide another opportunity for you to sample the great and diverse artistic talent that exists in Athlone. Admission or donation of €10 or €8 concession (including a glass of wine).

Film festival

Cinema-lovers in will enjoy a selection of films being screened free-of-charge in Cinema North West’s cinemobile in towns across Leitrim County this February. 

Cinema North West’s ‘New Roots’ film festival aims to screen entertaining films that reflect Leitrim’s many cultures, races and religions, to be enjoyed by newcomers, minority groups and those who have been deeply rooted in the region for generations. The ‘New Roots’ festival will take place in Ballinamore (Feb. 11th – 13th) and Carrick-on-Shannon (Feb. 18th – 20th). All screenings are free-of-charge, with tickets available on the door.
