Johnny to compete in Light Heavy Weight Irish title

The Four Corners Boxing/Fitness Club club will be represented at the Roscommon Herald Sports Awards, sponsored by Supervalu, which will be held in the Abbey Hotel on February 4th, where Roscommon’s top athletes will be presented with awards for sporting acievements in 2010.  One of the awards goes to Jennifer Harte, who stunned audiences in the National Stadium, Dublin on December 11th, when she defeated three-time Irish champion, Claudia Enwright, and took away her second Irish title that year.

Jennifer took her first Irish title in February 2010, when she mastered her division of Super Flyweight, under the watchful eyes of highly-motivated trainers and coaches, Paul Farrell, Martin Gavin, Mansur Magonadov and the club’s founder and co-ordinator, Brian Mongan.

Mr. Mongan says that since the club opened in October 2008, his skilled trainers have been no strangers to leading athletes to success. The club has won two Irish titles and eight Connacht titles so far, with Shawna Lavin recently having taken a Connacht title at St Anne’s Boxing Club, Westport (December 2010) and Magomaed Yakhyaev also having taken a Connacht title in the same month.  The club now also extends its best wishes to Johnny Corcoran, who will compete for an Irish title in the Light Heavy weight division – good luck, Johnny.
