GAA Club Preview – Your Club this weekend

The street league finals fell victim to the weather on Sunday. It is expected that they will be played on Sunday next.

The Club extends its congratulations to Gerry Cregg on his election of County Youth Officer at the County Convention on Saturday last. Gerry and all the other officials are extended best wishes as they manage the affairs of Roscommon GAA in 2011.

The Minor Club presentation night will be held in St Joseph’s Hall on this Friday night 14th January at 7.30pm. Awards will be presented to the underage club players of the year in the different age categories. All underage players, up to under 18 level are asked to attend and parents are especially invited to come along. The Senior Club AGM will be held in the Clubroom on Sunday next 16th January at 4pm. All those interested in Gaelic games in Boyle Parish are cordially invited to come along.

As most outgoing officers appear to be seeking re-election, new attendees should not have any fear of being landed with an officership, unless of course they wish to do so. The AGM is a great opportunity to review activities for the past year and to make preparations and improvements for the coming year and a large attendance is expected.

The Minor Club will hold a registration evening for all children who are under 10 years of age and who wish to play football with Boyle in 2011. It will be held in the Sports Complex on Tuesday 18th January from 5.45pm to 7pm. Each child should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Club expresses its condolences to former Boyle player of the seventies and the eighties, Greg McCrann, Roscommon, on the death of his father, and with Anne Marie Lennon and Mary Nicholson, Boyle on the death of their father, Bernie Kearney, Trien, Castlerea.

Due to frost damage, activities in and the use of the O’Rourke centre had to be curtailed since Christmas. We regret any inconvience caused to anyone. We thank our bingo patrons and the groups that use the facilities for their patience and understanding at this time.

Adult football training commences on Saturday next at 8pm. We welcome senior team manager Ger Dowd and wish him and his management team and all the players a successful 2011.

Castlerea St Kevin’s thanks everyone who supports our lotto.
