Important darts meeting on Monday

An important meeting to determine the future of darts within the county will take place next Monday night in the Royal Hotel, Roscommon town, beginning at 9 pm sharp.

There are plans to start a series of Round Robin events within the county this winter to increase the amount of games being played, and these Round Robin events will run in tandem with the new County Darts League for which an agreed format is yet to be finalised.   Details of the 4th annual Tommy Kenny Cup will also be available on the night. Players interested in participating in either the Round Robins, County Darts League or the Tommy Kenny Cup are urged to attend.

The Qualifiers for The P.D.C. SkyBet World Grand Prix attracted over 550 of the top players from all over the island to The CityWest Hotel in Co. Dublin on Sunday. Only 4 places were up for grabs and the lucky 4 to qualify after the marathon day of darts were Antrim's John Elder, Meath's James Keogh and Dublin's Jason Barry and Billy Matthews. Each is now guaranteed a minimum of €3500 for reaching the tv stages which will be live on Sky Sports in Mid October.
