The sudden death of Oliver (Lol) Gannon last week has cast a cloud over both Roscommon Town and the St Dominic’s catchment area. Oliver was a loyal member of the GAA and kept a keen interest in all Dominic’s activities and supported the club in many ways. Lol played for Rahara for many years and then for Dominic’s when they were formed in 1973. He won a county minor title in 1960 when Rahara and Knockcroghery amalgamated that year for minor. Just a few short weeks ago Lol attended the St Dominic’s history book launch in Lecarrow and thoroughly enjoyed meeting his former team-mates and old friends. To his wife and family and the extended Gannon families St Dominic’s extend their deepest sympathy.
