IFC: St. Dominic’s made heavy weather of this game to progress to the quarter-finals.
U16: Our U16 team had an impressive win over Elphin in the 1st round of the championship by 3-17 to 4-5. Training continues on Friday at 7 pm. Ladies Football training: We play Shannon Gaels in Knockcroghery on Saturday 1st September at 7 pm. U12: The U-12 girls lost to St. Ciaran’s on Sunday last. The final score was 2-1 to 10 points. U12 Camógie: We would like to wish our U-12 camógie team the best of luck in the county final on Saturday. We have reached the A county final of the U-12 camógie championship and take on Athleague on Saturday next in Knockcroghery at 1 pm.
Junior Camógie: We defeated East Mayo last Monday in our second game of the junior camógie championship. We play Oran on Sunday morning next in Knockcroghery. Training continues for all junior and U-18 players on Thursday at 8 pm. U12: It was a great week for our U12 football team in the Championship. On Friday evening we had a good win over St. Ciaran’s and on Sunday morning last we had a hard earned two-point win over a very good Western Gaels side. Our next match is on Sunday morning.
U10: Our U10 football team had a challenge game against St. Brigid’s on Sunday morning last. Training continues on Sunday mornings at 12.30 pm.
Training continues for our beginners, U8, U10 and U12 on Sunday morning from 12.30 - 1.30 pm.
Our ladies U16s had another good win recently, beating Padraig Pearse’s. Final score St. Barry’s 5-6 Padraig Pearse’s 5-5. Congratulations to all concerned.
Junior: Barry’s had a comprehensive win over Kilmore in the Junior Championship recently. Our lads are in the final against Kilglass, and this game will take place in late September.
Mass for deceased members of the club will take place on Friday 7th September at 8 pm. The Mass will take place in the clubhouse. A social night will also take place on the night.
Sympathy: We extend sympathy to the Conroy family on the death of Mary Alice Conroy, Kilbarry. May she rest in peace.
Our intermediate team play Croan’s in the championship quarter-final (6 pm in Castlerea) on Saturday evening. A large crowd is expected. Best of luck.
Tulsk Junior team beat Kilglass in the final championship group match on Sunday last. They are now in the northern semi final. Tulsk Minors drew with Western Gaels at the weekend and must meet them again in two week’s time.

It was the busiest week of the year for the club with seven teams taking the field over seven days, with four wins and one draw. On Monday evening last our Intermediate ladies team played Éire Óg in Loughglynn it was a tough game, which ended up in a draw, thanks to the boot of Louise Tully.
On Tuesday last our U16 team played Kilmore in the first round in Kilglass. Although Kilglass was the slower of the two teams to start, they rallied in the second half, with great scores from man of the match Leo Cox, scoring 1-2, but yet again it was going to be the boot of another Tully, this time Gavin, to save the day and kick a massive point. Final score Kilglass Gaels 1-8 Kilmore 0-10.
On Thursday evening our U12 boys travelled to Johnstown for their second round championship game against Clann na nGael and the young Kilglass boys and girls were convincing winners. Final score in Kilglass 3-20 Clann na nGael 2-5.
On Friday evening in Kilglass our minors took to the field in the minor championship against St Ronan’s. Final score Kilglass 6-15 St. Ronan’s 1-4.
On Saturday evening our intermediate ladies took the field yet again against Castlerea. Final score Kilglass 2-13 Castlerea 1-5.
On Sunday our Junior Bs bowed out of the championship. Final score Tulsk 2-14 Kilglass 0-4. The Junior B team would like to thank the management team of John Gilroy, Tommy Deehan, Seamus Cox and especially Seamus Nugent for their effort and commitment.
The minor club arranged a trip to Croke Park for the U11s. It was a great day and we would like to thank Anthony Mahady for his hard work and time.
Well done to Francis McCormack and Natalie McHugh who competed in Mosney in the Community Games All Ireland final.
All Ireland: The club is raffling one hurling and one football ticket for this year’s All-Ireland. Tickets €2 each or 3 for €5 and are available from club members and retail outlets. CLANN NA NGAEL
The Clann na nGael Junior A team played St. Joseph’s in the mid south Junior A championship, in Knockcroghery on Saturday evening last. Final score Clann na nGael 0–4 St. Joseph’s 0–7. The Clann senior team is playing Kilbride in a relegation play-off on Saturday evening next in Knockcroghery at 6pm. A large crowd is expected.
Clann na nGael U8s took on Ballinasloe on Sunday morning last in Johnstown. The lads produced some fine football and a goal scoring blitz in the second half secured a deserved victory.

O’Gara Cup: Our Clasby Beale Associates-sponsored intermediate team lost to St. Ronan’s in Ballyfarnon on Saturday last on a score of Castlerea St. Kevin’s 2 – 6, St. Ronan’s 0 – 14.
Seniors: Our Gilmartin’s Cash & Carry-sponsored senior team take on local rivals Western Gaels in the Ruby Oil senior championship relegation game on Saturday 1st September in Elphin at 4 pm.
Our Clasby Beale Associates-sponsored intermediate team will play local rivals Éire Óg in the quarter finals of the Roscommon Herald intermediate championship in Ballinlough on Saturday evening 8th September.
The Intermediates drew in a tight match in the Championship last Saturday against Michael Glavey’s. The U16s had a good win against Michael Glavey’s last Friday evening. The U12s also had a good win in the Championship last Sunday against St. Brigid’s. Final Score: Boyle 1-6. St. Brigid’s 0-5. Next match on Sunday September 1st in the Abbey Park at 12 noon against Castlerea. Players to assemble at 11.15 am. There will be a Special Meeting for all Club Members in September to discuss future plans. More details later.
Our Senior team sponsored by Denis Flynn of Hillstreet Quarries will play Padraig Pearse’s in the quarter-final of the Senior Championship on Saturday 1st September in Hyde Park at 6 pm. We are asking for your support on this big occasion for the club.
The Minor team had a great win over Shannon Gaels on Friday evening last 2-14 to 1-10.
Joe McEvoy & Jim King are organising a Golf Classic in Strokestown Golf Club on Friday 31st & Saturday 1st September as part of their fund-raising campaign. Teams €200 or sponsorship of €100. The Club is organising a draw for four All-Ireland tickets. Tickets will be on sale at the weekend from all executive members.
A hard fought JFC game in Ballyforan on Wednesday saw St. Joseph's edge out St. Aidan's on a score line of 2-9 to 0-8.
Following this game the draw for the play-offs saw us pitted against Clann na nGael on Saturday evening in Knockcroghery, with the losing team down to play Creggs. St. Joseph's qualified for the Mid-South semi-final with a hard earned win over a very strong Clann na nGael team.

The intermediate team travelled to Kiltoom on Saturday evening last to play St. Brigid’s in the O’Gara cup. St. Croan’s were convincing winners on a score of 2-11 to 0-8.
The Juniors were due to play Ballinameen in the final game of the league on Sunday, however Ballinameen conceded. With a full complement of points they are now in the league semi-final.
The U14 team put on another great performance to defeat St. Michaels in the league semi-final on Thursday evening. The final, against Eire Óg will be played in the near future.

Our Permanent TSB-sponsored Intermediate team lost out to a much stronger St. Croan’s outfit on Saturday last in Kiltoom. Final Score St. Brigid’s 0-8 St. Croan’s 2-10.
St. Brigid’s U-16 team had a well-deserved win against favourites Padraig Pearse’s on Friday evening in Woodmount. Final score St. Brigid’s 3–5 Padraig Pearse’s 1-7.

Despite a courageous and skillful performance the U14s were beaten by a stronger St. Croan’s team in their league semi-final. Thanks to the mentors and players of this team for their effort and commitment.

All roads lead to Castlerea this Sunday evening as our Finnerty Heating and Plumbing-sponsored senior team take on St. Faithleach’s in the quarter final of the championship. This is the most important game of the year to date, so we would ask everybody to please support the team if at all possible. There was no winner in last week’s club lotto. The €25 winners were Mick O’Hara, Ronan Glancy, Myles Walsh and John Gannon.

On Friday last Oran had a good win over Clonguish in the U12 hurling championship in a great game of hurling played in ideal conditions in Rockfield. Oran lost to Athleague/Tremane by 1-3 to 1-1 in the first round. The U16 team will have a championship match this week. In the Senior Championship Oran kept their hopes alive with a vital win over Four Roads on Sunday last.
The U12 team are into the U12A final on Saturday against St. Dominic’s. The final will be played in Knockcroghery at 1 pm sharp. The B Final between Four Roads and Padraig Pearse’s will precede it at 12 noon.
Training for the team continues on Thursday evening at 6.30 pm sharp in Athleague pitch. All 41 members are requested to come along, as the panel will be presented with football socks prior to the final. The support of the parents is requested.
The U18 team had their first victory in this year’s championship on Saturday evening last when they defeated Four Roads on the scoreline of 1-8 pts to 0-7.
