Close shave for Dessie and Joe

60 x 30 doubles

A close shave for Dessie Keegan and Joe McCann of Mayo as they had a tough battle with Comans Christopher Doolin and Aengus Cunningham in the open doubles championship. Mayo won 21:19, 16:21, 21:16 in a two-hour epic. Mayo, much more experienced at senior level, struggled at times and the contestants were level five times. A good performance from the Comans duo and Mayo will be relieved to move on a step further.

Junior Doubles Final

Niall McGrath and Christopher Doolan of Comanís recent key players on the Comanís team that won the Junior Inter Club All Ireland final against Cashel, played Kevin Craddock and Alan Tierney in the Connacht Junior Doubles final and triumphed in style. Niall and Chris are on a roll and will not be stopped in their quest to win the All Ireland Junior doubles title. Only two more steps to go and the title will rest at Comanís and hopefully will sit comfortable alongside the inter club title.

Menís C Doubles

Davy Dowd and Matthew Hughes defeated John Kelly and Brian Warde 21:20, 21.13. Only one pointed between two hard-working teams in the first game. Less stressful in the second. A good win for Davy and Matthew.
