Four Roads Hurling Club held a number of events on Sunday 9th May in Tisrara Sports Park to mark Lá na gClub 2010, with the day proving to be very successful and enjoyable for all. The day started with a game featuring senior hurlers and camogie players which proved to be very entertaining, and while the events of the day were mainly for fun and enjoyment this was nonetheless a competitive encounter with neither gender wishing to be outdone by the other. The rest of the day concentrated on events for the younger underage boys and girls and first on the field were the Under 8 boys and girls. They showed great skill, determination and enthusiasm and they really entertained the many parents who turned up to watch. Next up were the Under 10 boys and girls who like their younger counterparts played an excellent game of hurling. The final game of the day featured the Under 12 boys and girls who kept the standard of hurling seen in the other games well and truly going. Other events included poc fada, target shooting and novelty events. The club would like to thank all those who helped to organise the event, those who helped on the day as well as all the hurlers and camogie players both young and old who played in the various games, as well as all the parents who turned up to watch. The club would like to thank ‘Nigella’ and ‘Jamie’ who kept the barbeque going. We would like to thank the camogie club who helped to organise the day. A very enjoyable day.
