As part of the twinning of Ballymoe and Boystown, Nebraska, members of the local community in Ballymoe sent St. Patrick’s Day greetings recently to their USA counterparts.
Return greetings were received with an attached photograph of a panel of Fr. Flanagan’s tomb, showing him with General Douglas McArthur and President Harry Truman. On the lapel of Fr. Flanagan’s coat someone had placed a shamrock in honour of St. Patrick’s Day.
