Larry Cunningham in Rooskey

Next Sunday, 7th March, the dancing continues in Roosky when one of the greatest legends of the Irish Showband era, Larry Cunningham, makes a welcome return to the Shannon Key West Hotel.

Not many can forget the fateful night in the 1960’s when Jim Reeves walked out of the Orchid Ballroom in Lifford, pushing the relief band into the spotlight. Larry Cunningham and the Mighty Avons stepped up to the plate and took the Irish dance scene by storm, catapulting the Granard man to legend status.

Along with the likes of Big Tom, Philomena Begley and Margo, Larry has toured the world for several decades and is nearly a household name in the Irish circuit in America but he always comes home to the Longford/Leitrim area where he is at his best, performing some of his greatest hits such as ‘Come back to Erin’, ‘Lovely Leitrim’, ‘Misty rolling Midlands’, ‘Pretty little girl from Omagh’ and many others!

So, before the hustle and bustle of the week begins, enjoy Sunday night listening and dancing to all your favourite songs, from your favourite dance bands this Christmas!
