Rahara and Ballinasloe meet in Masters Final this weekend
Congratulations to Ballinasloe and Rahara Rovers who will be contesting the Masters Cup Final on Saturday 28th July. This promises to be a very entertaining game with plenty of veterans to display their still silken skills.
Rahara Rovers include some ‘international players’ with four Brazilians in their line-up. Also some of the other players who are still providing great value include Ross Shannon, Gary Smith, Gerry McNulty and Fred Doolin.
Manager Danny Doyle is hoping his boys can produce another top class performance to secure the Cup.
Ballinasloe have also one or two foreign internationals, and plenty of former greats. In Mike Bradley they have the outstanding goalkeeper in the competition and in Sean Riddle another of the older boys who is still as gifted and composed as times past.
Noel Lyons as Manager is a vastly experienced coach and also picks himself as a player with the ability to control the game from midfield.
The final will take place in Glenamaddy with a 7 pm kick-off. The venue is the home of the club who initiated the current Masters competitions and the sponsors are the Geraghty family who have always been associated with Association Football.
As to who will come out on top, well, that is going to be too close to call. The Roscommon & District League wish both teams the best of luck, and afterwards light refreshments will be served in Harte’s Corner House Bar. We look forward to seeing you all there.
