Bóthar auction in Curraghboy

Cam Bóthar Committee are organising a fundraising auction in aid of third world charity, Bóthar, which will be held on Friday, 23rd October in McDermott’s Lounge, Curraghboy. There will be a number of animals and other items for auction on the night. Music in the lounge will be provided by Shanagolden and there will also be raffle prizes on the night. Your support would be gratefully appreciated.


‘Soiree Musicale’ in Ballintubber Abbey

‘Soiree Musicale’ will be giving a recital in Ballintubber Abbey, Co. Mayo on the 28th of October at 2 pm. 

 ‘Soiree Musicale’ consists of Alan Leyland (guitar) and Paul Fletcher (piano).   

The recital is arranged for the Castlecoote Companions A.R.A. although all are welcome and it is free. 


Halloween party in Ballinameen

Ballinameen Parents’ Association are holding a children’s Halloween party in Ballinameen Community Centre on October 23rd from 7 pm to 9 pm. Prizes for best costume and games on the night. Admission €3, tuck shop on the night, all children under six to be accompanied by an adult.


Killers Tribute Band in Coachman’s Inn 

This Saturday night get along to The Coachman’s Inn, Roscommon for a great night of entertainment with Killers Tribute Band! Hear all the Killers hits from Human; Mr. Brightside; Smile Like You Mean It to Somebody Told Me.

Dance for Croí at Hamrock’s

Hamrock’s Lounge Athleague is the venue and Sunday, October 25th is the date for a major fundraising dance to raise much-needed funds for Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiology Foundation. This dance is an annual fundraising event with this year being extra special as it will mark the re-opening of the lounge after renovations.

Tickets for this fundraising dance are only €5 each and will be available on the door. The evening kicks off at 10 pm to the sounds of ‘Cois Tine’. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed, with loads of spot prizes on offer.

Announcing details of the event, Croí Event Co-ordinator Seona Joyce thanked Mary Hamrock for her continued and loyal support of Croí. “The funds from this fundraising dance will greatly assist Croí to continue to fund our Community Heart Health Programmes. These programmes help heart patients and their families all over the West of Ireland particularly those in Roscommon, Mayo & Galway,” said Ms Joyce. She continued, “We are hoping that the event will be even more successful this year as it takes place on the Sunday night of the Bank Holiday weekend, giving people no excuse not to come!”


Toast the Red Parrot on Saturday night

Toast the fact that the Red Parrot in Roscommon is 15 years in business this Saturday night.

The Red Parrot in the Square, Roscommon, has been revamped, with its very own state-of-the-art lighting system and a trendy new smoking area. To celebrate the revamp and the 15th anniversary, there will be a live band The Antics from 9.30 pm on Saturday night, followed by a live DJ ‘til late. See you there!
