One hundred and fifty soccer stars of the future took part in a recent fun day of soccer organised by Roscommon Town Youth Soccer at Lisnamult Community centre on Saturday, September 5th.
Boysí teams from under eight to under 16 took part in the event, with a wide range of events taking place, including an inter-team blitz and a tug-o-war, as well as skittle throwing and wellie throwing. Parents also enjoyed a tug-o-war and a game of soccer against the coaches.
The event culminated in a night out in Hannonís, where medals and trophies were presented and all involved relaxed with music and refreshments. The night also saw the launch of new club gear and the new gear received a good response from all present. A sale night is now being planned for early October, at which the new gear can be purchased.
All of the sponsors and those who helped with the food and the organisation of the event were this week thanked for their help and support.
